I was reluctant to update to the newest version of GameMaker, because these updates have historically broken things.
I put my fears aside and got the update. Then it broke things.
After updating, it was able to start up normally just one time. Now any time I launch it, it gives the message:
"Unable to find suitable driver to attach device context to. Falling back to MESA drivers. This will impact performance."
...it then crashes immediately afterward.
