Is there anyone with technical know-how on GameMaker Studio who can speak to the reason we need to run a live instance of Ubuntu to export to Linux?
I understand that some platforms, like macOS, require this because of proprietary developer tools and security features like signing packages. I can't see how this is an issue with Linux, and other game engines are typically able to export to Linux from Windows without much if any additional setup.
