Game maker 2 performance capabilities

Hello all,

I am converting 3D models to 2D sprites with Blender. Basically the 3D model renders a .png sequence of animations. I want to take these .png animations and run them in GMS2. My question is do I need to have a low poly count of these 3D models or is that just for when you are importing FBX or OBJ files into GMS2? This will be a 2D game 8 directional but will run 3D coverted models to 2D sprites. Will there a performance issue is my main concern?
