Disappearing sprites

Hey! Im making a project on gamemaker and sometimes whenever i want to edit my sprites, the layers say its empty. When i go to add, edit or change the sprite any way, the sprite itself updates and dissapears, just leaving an empty file

Here in the picture you can see how the layers are empty. If i were to do anything to it, the entire drawing would just be empty
