GMS2TEMP folder permissions keep getting reset? (Mac)

Hello! I'm a teacher and I finally got GMS2 to run and compile projects on our lab's Mac Minis for all of ou student accounts. However, there's one more issue that keeps popping up irregularly. It involves permissions for the temp folder.

When starting the app, it will pop up with an error notification:

Gamemaker is unable to access vital system folders
Please check your paths in preferences and verify your folder permissions,
/tmp/Gamestudio2/GMS2TEMP
